The Londonderry Lightning is a Babe Ruth competitive softball program.  The program consists of winter indoor training and then a series of tournaments in the spring/summer.  Depending upon the team’s success, the girls can progress through districts, states, and regionals.  The 2013 team was one of only 22 teams in the nation to make it to the World Series in Florida and won the first-ever Commissioners Cup.  We encourage all interested girls in Londonderry to attend tryouts.  The program has a long track record of taking girls of all skills and developing them into a high-performance team.

Fall Baseball
by posted 08/10/2014

Hello LAFA baseball,

I hope everyone has enjoyed their summer!  This year LAFA will be offering Fall baseball as an opportunity for kids that want to keep playing in a relaxed environment over the fall season.  There will be separate age groups set up for this season and games will start the weekend of September 6th.

Anyone that is interested in coordinating in the age group that their child will play please contact Tim Dodge @ - we are looking for coordinators to schedule games and coordinate games during the season.  If you have any questions please contact me at the email above.

For Kids that are interested Sign-ups will start this Tuesday August 12th on LAFA.info

In the fall kids will be grouped in the ages that they will be in the 2015 season.  This is an opportunity to get use to the rules and the league you will play in next year.  The kids will be broken out into the following groups.  Ages will be based on what age your child is as of April 30 2015

All Games are held on Saturday in the afternoon to avoid as many conflicts with other sports as possible (soccer, hockey and football).

Instructional ages 4 -6 (coach pitch) - This is instructional baseball where the start the game will be drills and the end will be games where coaches will pitch.  T's will be used as needed for kids that need a little extra.

The cost for this age group is $40

Farm ages 7-8.  This age group will run like the regular farm league.  The start of the games will have 30 minutes of instruction followed by games.  Coaches will start pitching and kids will be worked in during the season.

The cost for Farm age group is $40

A-AA ages 9-10 This age group will play in games and depending on availability may have practices during the week.  Games will be played based on regular league rules, 6 innings.  This age group will also play games vs Hudson fall teams in both Londonderry and Hudson.

The cost for this age group is $70 to pay for umpires and game balls.

Majors - AAA ages 11-12 This age group will play in games and depending on availability may have practices during the week.  Games will be played based on regular league rules, 6 innings.  This age group will also play games vs Hudson fall teams in both Londonderry and Hudson.

The cost for this age group is $70 to pay for umpires and game balls.

For kids moving into Babe Ruth (age 13+) that are interested in playing please contact Tim Dodge at to talk about options available.
