Girls (ages 5 and 6 as of January 1, 2023) can participate in this program.

New in 2023, LAFA will be offering a girls only instructional league instead of Tee Ball, this division is open to those 5 year old who have already played kickball in a prior year or who would prefer to play softball this season.  The league will develop with the players with focus on teaching the fundamentals in a fun learning environment.  Players will progress from hitting off a batting tee, to coach pitch with the goal of introducing the players to the spring loaded pitching machine that is used at the 8U level.  The goal of this league is to provide our softball players a fun experience that leaves them wanting to continue playing.  No prior experience playing is required, this division is open to all 5 and 6 year old girls who are interested in playing.  

We are looking for coaches, if you are interested please sign up to coach when registering your softball player.  No experience coaching is necessary, we are looking for parents who can help contribute to a fun learning environment.  While previous experience playing/coaching baseball or softball is great, it is not required.

If you prefer your daugher to play Tee Ball or Instrucitonal Baseball, please feel free to register them for those leagues.  This is an opportunity for softball players to learn the sport earlier and with a team made up of an all girl team.

Girls (Ages 7 and 8 as of January 1, 2023) can participate in this program.

Our 7 and 8 year old division is an instructional league, prior experience is not required.  This division is a great opportunity for any interested players to try softball in a fun environment.  The division will play 2 days a week, a weeknight and Saturday Mid-day/Afternoons.  Each day will be 85 minutes.  Each event will be split into three sections.  First section will be skills and drills, players will be running through basic drills that will start and continue to build their softball skills.  Second section will be game setting.  The game setting will progress with the season, initially the league will be coach pitch.  1/4 way through the season we will be introducing the spring-loaded pitching machine.  During the game setting the team in the field coaches will focus on defensive side of the game.  The team in the field while the team at bat will focus on hitting the ball and where to run after a hit ball.   At this age group we will play 3 outs an inning with no more than each hitter hitting once in an inning.  The third and final section of each session will be a fun game (example relay race or throwing contest).  Our goal is to provide the kids with a fun experience that leaves them wanting to play again next year.  We are looking for parents willing to help coach who can help contribute to this fun learning environment, when you register your daughter, and you want to coach please check off that you want to coach!  We will be offering some Sunday clinics open to all players in the division.

Our oldest division offers those players with past experience the opportunity to play a season against other teams in Town.  All games will be played at the LAFA Complex.  The league will play 2 days a week, one weeknight and Saturday Mid-Day.  We will be running tryouts for this division to ensure that all teams are balanced.  Pitching distance is 35 feet and this division will use the 11 inch ball.

Bambino Buddy Ball is an adaptive baseball program for boys and girls with varying abilities (either physical or developmental). Players will be paired with a “buddy” while they learn the skills of the game.  Buddy Ball is available to K-6 players. Buddies must also register to play.  There is no cost to be a buddy.  Players that are already participating in LAFA can also be a part of Buddy ball as buddies. Practices/Games will be played one time a week for an hour. Day TBD.
