Softball FARM: This division is for 7 & 8 year olds with the intent of providing 20 minutes of skill development and playing a game for the remaining time. Coaches pitch in this division for the first 3 innings and players are then encouraged to pitch. The 11” Soft-Softball is used. No playoffs or standings are kept. SINGLE A: This division is for the 9 or 10 yr. old player who does not get drafted into the Double “A” or does not want to be considered for the draft. This division is great for the player who has other commitments but still wants to play softball. Standings are not kept in this league, an end of the season playoff jamboree will be held. DOUBLE A: This division is for the 9 or 10 yr old player that is drafted into Double “A”. This Division is for the players that wish to devote their time to improving their softball skills with a strong commitment to softball. Players interested in this league will be called for tryouts in March and the league will be drafted sometime after the tryouts. Players not drafted will be placed in the Single “A” division. Standings are kept in this league and playoffs will be held at the end of the season.triple A: This division is for the 11 or 12 yr. old player that does not get drafted into the majors, or does not want to be considered for the draft. This division is great for players that have other commitments but still desire to play ball. Standings are not kept in this league and playoffs will be held at the end of the season.MAJORS: This division is for the 11 or 12 yr. old player that is drafted into the majors. This Division is great for the players that wish to devote their time to improving their softball skills with softball taking priority over other activities. All 11 and 12 year olds will be called for tryouts in March and the league will be drafted sometime after tryouts. Players not drafted to the Majors will be placed in the Triple “A” division. Standings are kept in this league and playoffs will be held at the end of the season. SENIOR AMERICANS: This division is for the 13-16 yr. old player that is not drafted into Sr. Babe Ruth division, does not wish to be considered in the draft or has other commitments. All 13 through 16 year olds will be called for tryouts in March and the league will be drafted sometime after tryouts. Standings are kept and playoffs held at the end of the season. Most games for this league are played under the lights during the week and Saturday and some Sundays during the season. SR. BABE RUTH: This Division is great for the players that wish to devote their time to improving their softball skills with softball taking priority over other activities. All 13 through 16 year olds will be called for tryouts in March and the league will be drafted sometime after tryouts. Standings are kept and playoffs held at the end of the season. Most games for this league are played under the lights during the week and Sunday games will be played this season. 18 & UNDER BABE RUTH TRAVEL TEAM: This team is a travel team for the 18 and under player who wishes to play competitive softball in the summer. This team does not start play until mid June. Games are twice a week with a double header on Sunday. This league currently Consists of 6 towns but and continues to grow each year. Players who play in the other divisions of LAFA are eligible to tryout for this . |
