This is not a field the age group would normally play on but the complex is busy this weekend with both baseball and softball tournaments so field availability is limited.  The base paths will be reconfigured for 8U play for this tryout.

Hello Londonderry Baseball Families,

You are invited to tryout for the 2025 Jr. Lancer 8U baseball team on Monday, July 21st at 11AM on McDermott Field at the LAFA Complex.  Here is a little information about the program and a brief rundown of what the season will look like.

Junior Lancers was established as an affordable program designed to develop future Londonderry High School baseball players.  Playing together with your friends from town starting at a young age is invaluable.  The goal is to build a core group of baseball players at each age group to ensure the strength of the High School program for years to come.  Many of the members of the successful LHS team have been playing together since 9U in the Jr Lancers program. 

We are a non-profit under the umbrella of LAFA and have close ties to the Dugout Club which is the Londonderry High School booster program.  The tuition for each team is simply the cost of the season (winter facility rental, league fees, umpires, baseballs etc.) and nothing more.

The schedule is as follows.  Starting in the beginning of January there will be one winter workout during the week and one winter workout on the weekend through late March.  These workouts are key to the players being ready to hit the ground running come spring.  If your child plays a winter sport and there is a conflict with a baseball winter workout we encourage you to go to your in-season sport.  If you have no conflict you are strongly encouraged to attend as these workouts are a VERY important part of your player’s development. 

Starting in the spring we will play a season of 14-18 competitive games followed by playoffs of 4-6 games.  Most games are doubleheaders on Saturdays and/or Sundays.  Occasionally you may have a doubleheader on a Saturday. In those instances we schedule accordingly to make sure the games don’t conflict with your Saturday rec games.  The season typically raps up the first or second week in June.  Junior Lancers competes in the New Balance Select Baseball league against other teams from New Hampshire and Massachusetts.  We are playing against other programs who pull kids from many different towns and charge two to three times what the

Junior Lancers charge and I can tell you first hand when you are competing with and beating those teams with a program made up of all kids from one town it is a proud feeling.  

The total cost for the 2025 season will be roughly $800-$1200 (Plus jersey and hat).  If your player makes the team you will sent a contract to sign and include a non-refundable deposit of $250 to hold your spot.  The next payment will be due in the winter prior to winter workouts and the final payment will be due in March prior to the first game.

Please register prior to Sunday, July 21.  If you are interested in trying out but cannot make the tryout date please let us know and we can make another date available.
